Cycads

These plants are not members of either the fern or palm families. They are primitive cone-bearing relatives of our modern day conifers. They possess spiral clusters of feathery leaves growing from the central point of a single trunk (caudex). They are extremely slow growers, often as wide as tall. There are male and female plants. Cycads are excellent for focal points or backdrops outdoors where tropical effects are needed. They can tolerate light conditions from partial shade to full sun. They need to have regular watering (evenly moist in well-draining soil). We normally have Cycas revoluta, king sagos, in 10", 5gal, 7gal, 15gal. and 20gal, sizes in stock. Other Cycad varieties might be available through special orders.
